Back in Business

With a political chaos and a chilly autumn on the way the Swedish mogul team has traveled south to Zermatt, Switzerland and Matterhorn. With a total of 16 riders we are the biggest squad on the glacier. This time of year pretty much the entire world elite is here preparing for the season. Since the village are 1600 meters above sea level it still feels like I have asthma whenever I do or go somewhere. Even the walk to the grocery store is a struggle. The training is done at no less than 3500 meters. The call cross-country skiers call it high altitude training, we call it freestyle.

On our second day we woke up to a fog thick as a bucket of milk on the glacier. Even though we couldn’t see our own hands in front of us we where still able to ride. I guess we have the right feeling in the boots! If it wouldn’t have been for the not so happy people working on the mountain we would have practiced all day. Unfortunately they don’t work when the fog is too thick so after a couple of hours they sent us home.

Brave coaches working on the landing in the fog.

Disappointed we headed down to the village. Hopefully the weather will get better soon and the staff on the mountain can work so we can head back up!
